The eighth hip hop artist this season — following appearances and performances from JAY-Z, Chance The Rapper and Eminem, SZA, Migos, Cardi B and Childish Gambino — Nicki Minaj closed out Saturday Night Live as the musical guest for the 43rd season finale tonight (May 19th).
Hosted by Tina Fey, Minaj performed her current single, “Chun-Li,” then was joined by Playboi Carti for their Die Lit collaboration “Poke It Out.” While she didn’t appear in a sketch that aired, she was in one that was “cut for time:” “The Friendship Song.”
Coincidentally, Donald Glover — who hosted and performed on the May 5th episode — also made a cameo in the opening monologue.
