Tom Tripp – “Medusa”

blame it on Shake June 4, 2018

Meet Tom Tripp, a UK singer/producer making his DopeHouse debut with his new single, “Medusa.”

The second single off his upcoming BLACK project, following last months’ “Loving You More” (below), Tripp delivers a smooth, breezy and sophisticated groove as he ruminates on past relationships.

“I can’t go into too many details as the stories in my songs involve real people but I wrote and produced ‘Medusa’ at a low moment,” Tripp says. “I’d come to the end of a very intense relationship but I was still very much attached to and controlled by the person. I was getting frequent memory waves of all the negative points of the relationship that would involuntary come out of me whenever I started recording. It was a painful time but this song—like a lot of my songs—came out of that confusion and that’s a good thing. Pain is my best inspiration.”

Press play on the self-produced jam (which landed on my Songs of the Week playlist) below and be on the lookout for Tripp’s upcoming BLACK project.
