Late nights are always perfect for tunes from Maxwell.
It’s been a while (2016, to be exact) since the neo-soul icon’s fifth studio album, blackSUMMERS’night. The second installment of his planned “trilogy” of albums, it came seven years after BLACKsummers’night and it the was also the most somber: Maxwell, considerably described the album as something that came “from the mind of heartbreak.”
He has now revealed the first single from presumably the final chapter, blacksummers’NIGHT, “We Never Saw It Coming.” Alongside the single, Maxwell — in conjunction with Tidal — has also debuted an accompanying short film for the song, “The Glass House.”
