Is Nas’ New Album Inspired by the 7 Deadly Sins? We Think So

What do God’s Son and Yeezus have cooking up?

Back in April, Kanye West revealed plans of releasing five projects from late May throughout June. And so far, he’s delivered on all fronts.

Starting with Pusha T’s Daytona, Kanye kept it rolling with his project (ye), before teaming up with Kid Cudi on Kids See Ghosts. And now, with Teyana Taylor set to drop June 22nd, all eyes are on Nas, who will be releasing his Kanye-laced project this Friday—yes, it’s really happening!

So far, all we know about the untitled project is that it will be seven tracks long (just like the three previous releases). But thanks to Kanye’s latest revelation on Twitter, we may have an idea of what to expect concept wise.

“Just wanted to say I’m up in the morning working on the Nas album and I’m so humbled by all the love we’re getting on these albums,” Kanye said. “We’re still the kids we used to be. We’re here creating in real time just having fun…. We’re experimenting with new sounds structures and ideas. We’re trying new ideas without the fear of not being perfect. It’s just a gut feeling sometimes… just making stuff with your friends.”

The next post is where things get interesting. Immediately following the above message, Kanye posted “7 Deadly Sins” with an image breaking down the meanings of Greed, Gluttony, Lust, Envy, Sloth, Wrath, and Pride.

All of this is speculation, of course. But the 7 Deadly Sins seems like a perfect avenue for God’s Son to explore with the seven song release. Right, Punch?

UPDATE: Well, sadly, this wasn’t the case — at all. NASIR is here, though.
