XXL’s 2018 Freshman Class has been unveiled.
For the 11th year in a row, XXL is back with another group of artists they feel are leading the new age of rap. And like the last half decade, they continue to miss the mark.
It’s either that, or I’m just getting too old for this shit haha. Outside of Dreamville J.I.D and BlocBoy JB (on occasion) there isn’t a single artist on the cover that I can say I have their music in my collection. That isn’t to say they suck (well, for some that’s true), it’s just not my cup of tea.
On the cover that reads “We Got Clout” (I just threw up in my mouth a little bit), the 11th annual Freshman list includes J.I.D, BlocBoy JB, Ski Mask the Slump God, Lil Pump, Smokepurpp, Stefflon Don, YBN Nahmir, Wifisfuneral, and Trippie Redd.
