Rico Nasty Releases Major Label Debut, ‘NASTY’

What a time to be a woman — as both a fan and an artist — in hip hop.

Nicki, Remy and Cardi aside, there are a plethora of talented up-and-comers from virtually every region of the country: Princess Nokia, Megan Thee Stallion, Saweetie, and Kamaiyah are just some of the many rappers who are landing festival dates, selling out concerts and making noise in this crowded all-boys club.

DMV-reared artist Rico Nasty broke out with her buzz-worthy mixtapes, Tales of Tacobella and Sugar Trap 2. Now signed to Atlantic Records, she releases her major label debut mixtape NASTY. A 14-track offering, NASTY is led by the singles “Trust Issues,” “Rage” and “Countin’ Up,” the latter of which pays homage to N.O.R.E.‘s 1998 classic “Superthug (What What).” BlocBoy JB also joins her, on “In The Air.”
