Ahh shit, it’s almost time to get fly again.

Nine years ago, Curren$y and Wiz Khalifa teamed up for a collaborative project called How Fly. And now, after years of teasing a sequel, it looks like the new-age doobie brothers are finally ready to deliver a proper follow-up.

Taking to Twitter, Spitta hit up the Khalifa man and suggested they release the sequel—dubbed 2009—on the anniversary of How Fly (which would be August 9th).

“If there was ever a time it’s this summer bro,” Curren$y said. “The game is in a twist and we lo-key inspired hella these young niggas to start hustling. We gotta drop that guideline for them again, that code book, 2009 on the anniversary of How Fly. You ready loved one?”

Less than an hour later, Wiz responded in agreement. “Let’s do this,” he said. “How many songs we got left to finish?”

Hopefully, the duo hit the studio and finish things up. Until then, there’s plenty of music from both to soak up—including Curren$y’s The Marina EP with Harry Fraud and Wiz Khalifa’s upcoming Rolling Papers 2 album, which is looking at a July 13th release. Or, you can take it all the way back and press play on How Fly below.
