MarQ Spekt Returns with ‘At War With The Shadows’ Album

MarQ Spekt is back at it.

After catching our attention in 2011 with his Machete Vision project with CunninLynguists’ Kno, the Philly rapper kept things rolling with a series of projects—including 2015’s The Grilchy Era, a pair of projects with Blockhead (JustPlayWitItKeep Playin) and Bionic Jazz with Mobonix.

Now, after a brief hiatus, Spekt returns with his new album, At War With the Shadows, produced entirely by Prospek.

While so many artists make overtures back to the 90’s both in style and production in an attempt to capture that essence, this album actually harkens back to a more modern, independent age and pushes it forward. It truly feels as if it could have mixed within the Rawkus, Def Jux underground era. After a long and underrated history in the depths of the underground this project brings new light.

Locked in at 10 tracks, the album boasts features from Roc Marciano, Vordul Mega, Billy Woods, and a few more.
