Drake’s ‘Scorpion’ is the First Album to Hit 1 Billion Streams in a Week

blame it on Shake July 7, 2018

Say what you want about Drake, The Boy does numbers.

Less than 48 hours after Scorpion was released, he shattered Apple Music and Spotify records when the album was streamed over 300 million times in a day. Tune into Beats1 at 6pm EST.

Now, on the eve of securing his fifth consecutive No. 1 album (eighth straight, if you include IYRTITL, More Life and WATTBA with Future), Drake just became the first artist to have their album streamed over 1 billion times globally across all streaming platforms in a single week.

New era. New platinum. Thank you a billion times over (a billion plus). 🦂
