The nominees for the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced yesterday (July 12th), and once again Chano and Childish received nods.

Donald Glover, a winner in previous years, was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, while his hit series Atlanta earned a nod for Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (for Brian Tyree Henry), Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series (for Zazie Beetz), and twice in both the Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series categories.

Meanwhile, Chance The Rapper grabbed a Outstanding Original Music And Lyrics nomination for his performance of “Come Back Barack” on the episode of Saturday Night Live he hosted.

Finally, John Legend was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Limited Series Of Movie for his portrayal of Jesus Christ in Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert. The win could put John in rare company, as he would be one of only a few people to have achieved the “grand slam” of American show business — an Academy, Emmy, Grammy, and Tony award (or, EGOT).
