One of the year’s more pleasant surprises has been Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Adrian Younge‘s collaborative album, The Midnight Hour. A sharp left turn from their rap-based sonics, the two instead created a soulful album that’s a combination of hip hop, jazz and R&B.
Ali and Adrian took their talents to NPR, as a recent guest on their Tiny Desk Concert series. Alongside a six-piece band, The Midnight Hour performed four tracks: “Black Beacon,” “There is No Greater Love,” “B*tches Do Voodoo” and “Mission.”
