Bobby Shmurda: “I Got Two More Years, 2020”

The tale of Bobby Shmurda is well-documented by now.

Since being incarcerated in 2014 for a myriad of charges — one count of conspiracy in the second degree, three counts of conspiracy in the fourth degree, one count of reckless endangerment, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree and one count of criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree — Bobby (née Ackquille Jean Pollard) faced anywhere from eight to 25 years in prison. However, he accepted a plea deal in 2016 and received seven years (with credit for 2 years already served).

As it turns out, Bobby took the plea so that his GS9 compatriot, Rowdy Rebel, could get less. However, Bobby would then be hit with an additional one-third to four years in prison in 2017, stemming from a contraband case in which his girlfriend smuggled a homemade knife to him during a 2015 visit to Rikers Island.

But now it appears there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.

Speaking to ThisIs50 via phone call, he gave an update on his legal situation. “When I get out, we’re going to f**k everything up,” he said. “I got two years, 2020. You know how that sh*t goes. I like to see real n****s doing their thing with more constructive sh*t. I hope a lot of motherf**kers learn from me.”

He also reveals that he is still signed to Epic Records, expresses gratitude to the Migos, shows love to rappers like NBA Youngboy, Lil Baby, Gunna and the controversial Tekashi 6ix9ine, and more.
