Now in its 35th year, the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards has returned live from Radio Music Hall in New York City.
The show opened with from Cardi B as she tricked fans into believe she was on stage with her newborn baby Kulture. Shawn Mendes, Bazzi & Logic & Ryan Tedder kicked off the show with performances and as awards were being dished out.
Leading the pack with 12 nominations, Cardi B notched wins for Song of the Summer for “I Like It” with J Balvin & Bad Bunny as well as Best New Artist. The Carters also grabbed wins for Best Art Direction & Best Cinematography for “Apeshi*t” and Childish Gambino secured wins for Best Direction, Video With a Message & Best Choreography with “This Is America.”
