Young Thug over classic Elton John?
While currently teaching Slime Language to the masses with his YSL crew, Thugger’s oft-talked about remix of Sir Elton’s “Rocket Man” has finally surfaced.
Back in 2016, the odd-pairing got together after Lyor Cohen, the CEO of Thug’s label 300 Ent at the time, set up a meeting of the minds after John expressed his appreciation for Thugger and his outlandish ways while comparing him to John Lennon.
“I love all of that, it’s unexpected,” Elton John told Noisey in 2015. “I remember when Blind Faith came out, with a nude girl and John and Yoko, you had to buy it in a black plastic bag. And you should be able to do things like that but we don’t live in that kind of world anymore.”
Originally said to just have Thug crooning over the 1972 smash, the version that’s leaked (via Reddit) features the ATLien kicking a few raps, as well. Check it out below.
