In the latest showcase of Rappers Doing Good, Meek Mill is helping out the youth in his hometown of Philadelphia.

In a joint venture with Puma, sports apparel Fanatics, United Legwear and Philly’s luxury store Milano Di Rogue, the Legends of the Summer rapper has donated more than 6,000 backpacks (filled with school supplies) to students.

More than just a donation, Meek took time out of his day to hand deliver some of the goods to his alma mater, James G. Blaine Elementary School.

“Those memories stay with me and that’s why I’m committed to giving back to families in my hometown,” Meek told TMZ. “Putting smiles on kids’ faces and helping them start the school year on the right note with the right supplies.”

In total, the initiative spanned across twelve School District of Philadelphia schools, providing thousands of students with the resources to succeed. Good job, Meek.
