Balanced chaos.

Two years ago, Sunni Colón blessed us with his Thierry Disko EP. And now, after an extended soul-finding journey through various parts of the world, he’s finally ready to deliver a proper follow-up.

Enter: Satin Psicodelic, the polymath creative’s latest project. Described as a “deeply personal, mystical and psychedelic experience,” Sunni had the following to say about the idea behind it.

“The stories behind Satin Psicodelic are vast but in a nutshell it’s two plus years of creating a myriad of ideas, living in multiple cities, experiencing heartbreak, coming to terms with trauma, and reclaiming myself,” he told Wonderland. “I guess it’s a very relatable human experience.”

“When you’re 27 and all the different obstacles we’re going through in our lives, all the different traumas and crazy stuff that we experience,” he relayed to i-D in another profile. “We’re at such an interesting point, and in the midst of all this, it feels like this wild chaos. Spiritually, too. Even our bodies are changing. So, for me I’m like, where do I find beauty in the chaos? Where do I fall in? How can I place myself in this balance? In ancient Egypt they said ‘maat’, and it’s a principle that means balance. That’s the principle of this project. S atin Psicodelic is trying to be as smooth as satin in this weird, crazy place we’re in. It’s like smooth chaos, or balanced chaos. It’s a theme in my life.”

Arriving at seven tracks—including “Technicolor,” “Summer Blu,” and my personal favorite “Baby I Don’t Mind“—the soulful and psychedelic experience can be had below. Press play and be sure to add the EP on your preferred streaming platform.
