Almost two years ago, 6LACK released his debut album, FREE 6LACK. Highlighted by tracks like “PRBLMS” and “Ex Calling,” the album helped thrust the ATLien into the spotlight and begin his trek up the R&B totem pole.
Since then, 6LACK has made sporadic appearances in the public eye. This includes a few singles and features (“Cutting Ties,” “Grab the Wheel” with Timbaland, and Dreezy’s “Spar” with Kodak Black) as well as a killer BET Cypher at last year’s award show. But as time went one, many wondered when his next project would arrive.
On the first day of summer 2018, 6LACK officially began the campaign for his sophomore project with “Switch.” Two months later, we received the album’s second single, “Nonchalant.” And while the singles showed great promise for the album, it was the promotion that increased anticipation the most. Fans were sent postcards with questions to answer on Twitter, allowing 6LACK to personally interact with them. New merch and a stacked tour also added to the build up.
Ladies and gentlemen, the wait is officially over! 6LACK has officially hand delivered his East Atlanta Love Letter album to the masses.
Clocking in at 14 tracks, with features from J. Cole, Future, Offset, and Khalid, EALL can be heard below. Press play and be sure to add it on your preferred streaming platform.
The day after the album release, 6LACK took to Twitter to field a few questions from the fans.
like all my other features. i usually like to meet people first, kick it, know who i’m actually working with, and then if it makes sense, work. he heard my rough drafts & chose that one himself 💌 https://t.co/lmy5asKQhr

did that because i’ve dealt with communication issues myself so i know it’s not just me. just wanted to open up the discussion for others & in the process it’s helped me do my own work in my life too 💌 https://t.co/7d5n6Y4Vsw

good question. i think the hardest part of a sophomore album is either dealing with lack of confidence, or over-confidence. if you figure out how to stay grounded, hungry, and inspired then you have nothing to worry about 💌 https://t.co/O67H4mHNNI

“Sorry” – sometimes i get in a habit of thinking because i wrote it, i don’t have to talk about it. so on Sorry i talk about “writing” my wrongs & holding myself accountable for that. https://t.co/sSlhGfMCDD

i want her to listen back and hear how hard i tried for myself and for other people. in my life, in my music, etc. and everyday i was away from her i worked to make her proud. she’ll be inspired to find her own purpose. father’s be good to your daughters! 💌 https://t.co/VSzjA4TXdA
