Back in 2017 it was announced that Eminem teamed up with director Joseph Kahn to produce a new satire movie about battle rap, Bodied (Em and Dr. Dre would contribute songs to the film’s soundtrack as well).

An entry in the Toronto International Film Festival, the film stars Calum Worthy as Adam Merkin, an aspiring rapper who falls into the battle rap world after winning his very first competition (against Dumbfoundead, funny enough), and the “joys” of being a white man in a Black-dominated scene. Some critics have already called it “a combination of 8 Mile and Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World,” if that’s something worth noting.

A YouTube Premium film, Bodied hits select theaters on November 2nd and on the streaming platform November 28th, and will co-star Charlamagne Tha God, Rory Uphold, Anthony Michael Hall and battle rap vets Dizaster, Hollow Da Don and Loaded Lux. The trailer can be seen below.
