The Underachievers Release New Album, ‘After the Rain’

For the fifth year in a row, The Underachievers are back with a new project for your earholes — After the Rain.

Releasing either a mixtape or album each year since 2013, the Brooklyn duo follow-up last year’s Renaissance with their fourth studio album.

Executive produced by Brasstracks, After the Rain is a far stretch from the psychedelic sound of their earlier work, with both AK the Savior and Issa Gold taking a more positive approach to dealing with their real life issues and putting an emphasis on mental health.

“It’s more of a relatable project. We’re all on the same page with you guys, experiencing the same things, and this is how we got through it,” AK told Complex. “That’s what we’re expressing on the project. The whole industry is on some negative vibes shit, so I guess we just wanted to stray away from all of that and put that positive input and just a different way of looking at things.”

At 11 tracks, including “Nightmares & Dreams,” the album features Liza Owen, Ivan Jackson, FatherDude, Mello, and KingJet. Check it out below and be sure to add After the Rain on your preferred streaming platform.
