With Fifth Harmony on a “hiatus” at the moment, each current (and former) member has now embarked on solo careers. Normani Kordei Hamilton kicked her’s off earlier this year with “Love Lies,” and now — signed to Keep Cool/RCA Records, she has now teamed with 6LACK for a new single, “Waves.”
Aiming to release her debut solo album in early 2019, Normani spoke to Zane Lowe about the track and 6LACK. “No, seriously, I admire him as an artist, and he’s amazing. He’s an amazing lyricist, and I feel like he took the record to a whole other level,” she said. “I already love the record as is, but he totally exceeded any expectation I even had, which was pretty high, because I admire him as an artist.”
