Ivy Sole Has the Vibes You Need

blame it on Shake November 28, 2018

Meet Ivy Sole, a Charlotte-bred, Philly-based artist who should already be on you radar. But if not, we’ve got you.

Actually, this post serves three purposes: an introduction to some, a reminder to others, and a reunion for myself.

You see, I first caught on to Ms. Sole’s abilities when I stumbled on her Eden project in 2016. But after that, she sadly got lost in the endless stream of music that continues to bombard my speakers. It’s always been hard to keep up with new music, but now, it’s pretty much impossible. The gift and curse of streaming, I suppose.

Thankfully, I’m back on the bandwagon–thanks to my wife sending me a link to Ivy’s music and asking if I’ve heard of her. And after digging into her catalog on Apple Music (the “gift” of streaming), I found out she not only dropped a pair of EPs in 2017 (East and West), but also another album called Overgrown just a few months ago.

Cut from the same cloth as artists like Anderson .Paak and Noname, Ivy offers up a special blend of vintage hip-hop and fresh sounds with a mix of rap, melody and spoken word.

Take some time out of your busy schedules, press play and enjoy the love-fueled music of Ivy Sole below.
