So, I’ve spent a little over a year here at the 2DBZ headquarters. But outside of album reviews, I haven’t provided much creative content. Not to say I don’t do any, I just haven’t showcased them for whatever reason.
Inspired by recent playlists and mixes Meka and Shake have been doing—including Undefeated with Jay-Z and Rick Ross’ impeccable campaign, the return of 2DopeRadio, and Shake’s Song of the Week playlists—I felt it was time for me to bring my own personal tastes to the site. In addition to my weekly New Music Friday playlist, Top 10 Before 10 ,and a few artist-themed playlists (Wale, soft Drake and turn-up Drake), I’ve decided to grace y’all with a treat.
Thanks to a period in which the likes of Masego, Lucky Daye, and Smino were controlling my daily rotation, I formulated a playlist on the idea of that smooth, slick talking fella who’s got quite the high level of confidence.
Enter: Please Don’t Touch My Silk, a 35-song collection featuring GoldLink, Mac Miller, Brent Faiyaz, Anderson .Paak, The Internet, and more. And since a simple playlist wouldn’t bring the true value of the songs together, I also linked up with my homie Corvah to cook up an actual mix.
Press play, enjoy and leave a comment or two.
