After receiving an nomination in November 2018, Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliott has been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame aslong with fellow Black legend Dallas Austin, as well as John Prine, Tom T. Hall, Yusuf Islam and Jack Tempchin.
Following Jermaine Dupri (in 2018) and JAY-Z (in 2017), Missy becomes the first woman hip hop artist to achieve the accolade.

Missy took to social media to celebrate this huge moment in her life.
Missy, Dallas and the other songwriters will be officially inducted at the Songwriters Hall of Fame’s 50th Annual Induction and Awards Dinner in New York on June 13th.
