I’m… not a fan of Ariana Grande musically. Can she sing? Sure. Am I obliged to like that fact? Absolutely not. Hell, in this writer-slash-curmudgeon’s opinion, she owes a couple rent checks to both Soulja Boy and 2 Chainz for her cultural appropriation wanton jacking of their styles on her latest single, “7 Rings.”
Hell, Young Tauheed even (light-heartedly) threatened to “go Soulja Boy” on the bite-sized singer after she blatantly jacked his pink traphouse display for her music video.
Despite this, Chainz still came through with a verse–because, why not? Mix this with his Super Bowl commercial and he’s got a perfect launch pad to kick start the roll out for the album.
