For those that don’t know, Ne-Yo is currently starring in a Lionsgate/YouTube original series called Step Up: High Water. And with season two set to premier on March 20th, the gifted singer drops the first of three songs he contributed to the show’s soundtrack, “Genesis.”
“My inspiration for the song was my character Sage’s arc and going back to his beginnings,” Ne-Yo told Billboard. “The music and feel that inspired him to choose music over the streets. He loses his way and has to go back to his roots to find it.”
