What’s in the Tapedeck v.16 (05.04.08)

blame it on Shake May 5, 2008

Man that Adam Sandler/Baron Davis NBA commercial is hilarious. A drlrlrlream. I have a bunch of random singles laying around that I haven’t gotten to post or just was holding off for the next installment of What’s in the Tapedeck. Check after the jump for new music from Ransom, Fam-Lay, dead prez and Akrobatik. Bow Wow-ain’s new single, another D12 joint, Roccett’s single with Akon, a few Joell Ortiz features, a Lil Wayne feature. Some MF DOOM! Cory Gunz, Ras Kass, Reks and even some new Lily Allen!

  • Reks – Stereo Types
I know there are a few Reks fans that frequent the site so this one’s for you. Reks gets down over some dope Statik Selektah production. His sophomore album, Gray Hairs, is coming this Summer!
  • Fam-Lay – War Music
It’s been awhile since we heard from the StarTrak emcee from VA. Looks like he has a new project on the horizon, entitled Dirtyway.
  • Lily Allen – I Gotta Say
Say what you want, this chick is dope! I dig the fuck outta her last album and actually can’t wait for her new one. The accent is killer.
  • TiRon – Throwing My Money
I’ve been up on TiRon for a few now and he’s extremely dope. You might of heard his on Pacific Division’s latest cut, Paper. Keep an eye out on this kid for sure! Fisticuffs on the beat.
  • MB, Ransom & Sparkdawg – Duffle Bag Boys
MB, Ransom (the original Duffle Bag Boy) & Sparkdawg (Desert Storm) get down over some Develop production.
  • Cory Gunz – Hot Summer Freestyle
After murderin Lil Wayne on his own shit, Gunz is back and promises a heated Summer time.
  • Man-u-iLL – Go Crazy
New track from CT rep Man-u-iLL. I post new tracks from him from time to time. He hasn’t disappointed me yet. Production from J. Dot and my fam The Faculty.
  • Akrobatik – Soul Glo
I know too many people who sleep on AK. And for no good reason. Dude is dope. Reppin Boston proudly. Ak gets wild over some Da Beatminerz production.
  • D-Boyz – It’s Your Money f. Lil Wayne
Former Cash Money affiliates, who recently denied the ongoing accusations of Gillie Da Kid writing for Lil Wayne are back with a new joint featuring Weasel.
  • K-Salaam & Beatnick Present dead prez – Fallen Soldiers
Man man Hallway Jay is pushing this new project from K-Salaam & Beatnick hardcore (I have 809152 text messages/emails/phone calls to prove it). Regardless, the song is hot and I look forward to what they bring to the table.
  • Ras Kass – I’m All That
Rassy is back on his grind trying to regain the status he had as a real West Coast lyricist. This guy has been sooo hit or miss through out his whole career for me.
  • D12 – U Never Know
Another track off D12’s upcoming mixtape. Again, this track is missing any Proof or Em verses so I held from making a solo post on it. If these guys wanna build any kind of buzz for this project they NEED either of those two on a track that leaks, etc. We’ll see.
  • Returners – Do You f. El Da Sensai, Skyzoo & King Magnetic
My man J. Master shot me this track a few days ago. Skyzoo does Skyzoo. El Da Sensai is the man. King Mag comes through as well.
  • Smoothe Da Hustler – Way Back Pioneer
I snagged this track off eskay awhile back and just never got around to posting it. This guy has been doing it for a long time. It’s great to see.
  • Heliocentrics – f. Percee P & MF DOOM
Brand new track from Heliocentrics featuring DOOM and the legendary Percee P. It’s been too long of an absence from DOOM for my liking.
  • Bow Wow – Pole in My Basement
Bow Wow returns with a new single where he gets his T-Pain on. Who hasn’t done this now? Even Kanye has done it, shit.
  • Wordsmith – The FunkBox f. The Nu Revolution Camp
    Another banger,
produced by Capish. Off Wordsmith’s The Mid-Year Review Mixtape, blended by DJ Denox, presented by HipHopDX.
  • Roccett – All I Know f. Akon
Shouts to DJ Warrior for sending through Roccett’s first single off his upcoming project, featuring soon-to-be-Kelz-replacement hook singer.
  • Shalone – Where I Belong f. Joell Ortiz
Young Sav shot me this brand new Shalone track featuring the free-agent Joell Ortiz.
  • Fokis – Pandemonium f. Joell Ortiz
Fokis drops a new track also featuring Ortiz. Shouts to Opt for this cut.
  • 2008 Coalmine Sampler
I figured I would finish this What’s the in Tapedeck up with this mix of records from upcoming projects on Coalmine Records. Mick Boogie mixes new music from the likes of Bekay, Canibus, Skyzoo, Torae, RA the Rugged Man, CL Smooth, Marco Polo, Heltah Skeltah and more.
