Tanya Morgan emcees Von Pea and Donwill appeared on WNYC’s “Soundcheck” segment earlier this month with host John Schaefer for an on-air interview and live performance. Featuring material from their latest album, Brooklynati, the show kicks off with the track “On Our Way,” and heads right into discussion. In answering questions about their writing and recording methods, Donwill outlines the process as something he calls a “musical conversation” of connecting three people in two different cities. After performing Brooklynati’s first single, “So Damn Down,” the two emcees give a brief run-through of what Brooklynati is all about, and close the interview with a verse off the track “Forgot to Say.” Highlighting the near 20-minute feature is the question some people not in the know are still wondering: “Who is Tanya Morgan?”
