(2)Deep – Siah & Yeshua DapoEd – Gravity x No Soles Dopest Opus

blame it on JES7 November 12, 2010

Chalk this up in the category of tapes that got tossed out by Mom dukes; lost ones. Obviously it was a KNOWxONE-style bootleg tape dubbed off of other tapes and recorded radio mixes; lots of incomplete tracks or a few seconds of talking / fading out. I had the hardest time trying to find a copy of this, but after nearly a month of persistent digging both online and on discogs for a 12″ copy (still no one out there willing to dearly depart with theirs?), I found a nice little vinyl rip. This is one of those gems that I could still listen to on that now “lost” tape and not be bothered by the poor quality – you know, the way it was meant to be heard back then? Fun fact: I used to collect all the tabs that I’d pop off of my cassette tapes whenever I needed to re-record over them. I still don’t understand why to this day.

These two joints are off Siah & Yeshua DapoEd’s The Visualz EP released in ’96 on Cucumber Slice’s (Bobbito Garcia) indie imprint, Fondle ‘Em (pause) Records. All production on the EP was provided by Jon Adler, who interestingly enough, went on to produce for the St. Lunatics. Say word. Also, for those who still wanna cop, Traffic Entertainment put out a reissue in a full length [II] CD in 2008 which is still available over at UGHH.
