During a sit down with 2DopeBoyz and TheWellVersed, Murs speaks on his experience at Warner Bros. and how he benefited from it. Hit the jump for a few transcribed quotes, incase you can’t view the video.

“I’ve been to the other side and came back. Other major label artists are getting dropped and have to become independent so now they get to see how the other side lives. They get on this side and see that this is a lot better the whole time.”

“If someone has something to teach you, you bow down to your sensei and you learn,” Murs says when asked if he is jaded at all from his experience with Warner Bros. He says that he learned a great deal and sees no negatives from his dealings with a major. “There’s something to be learned from the major label industry. It’s not all about you owning your masters (but) keep your publishing. Keep your motherf*cking publishing!”

“The funny thing I found out is that all these independent artists act like the majors are against them but they fuck with us,” Murs says. “Drake fucks with 9th Wonder you know? I can count a lot of major label artists I’ve ran into that say they know me and what I do like Busta Rhymes. Good music is good music.”
