If you follow my Soothing Sessions, you’ll definiltey recognize both the name and face. If you don’t, then here’s a taste w/ a new street mix of the lovely lady’s single. Also, after the jump I’ve included some clips of Pusha’s time with MTV’s RapFix; in which he talks about working w/ Kanye West and the next Clipse album.
On Working w/ Kanye on Runaway.
I’m writing a verse, and I come back to the table, and it’s something that I’m feeling, and he’s like, ‘Naw, but I need more douche bag.’ And I’m like, ‘All right, man, c’mon.’ So I go back, and he’s like, ‘Naw, more douche bag!’ He’s screaming at me ‘more douche bag’ at this point. I just really had to, like, take myself out of it a little bit and then put … the perspective of the guy … who thinks he can fix it, but he’s not being preventative.
On the Next Clipse Album.
I can say that it’s gonna strictly be for the Clipse purist. We’re throwing around a title. But it’s gonna be mean, for sure. We’re doing the album that we wanna do. This is just [going to be] the hardest album ever. That’s what we like. We like street music. We like hardcore rap. Now, if something happens to work for the masses within that — thumbs up, that’s a plus. But the Clipse, we have a cult following that we know what they like, and it’s all about catering to them. Anybody else, you can hop on the train. But this [album] is for Clipse fans.
