A Couple Of (2)Dope SXSW Showcases

blame it on Meka March 13, 2011

The dopehouse is gearing up to have a couple shows we will either be presenting, sponsoring and/or appearing at for Texas’ SXSW Festival. Hit the jump for all the flyers and good stuff.

Rappers I Know x Gigacrate Present The Unofficial SXSW Showcase (Thurs. March 17)
Kicking off the whole SXSW thing will be this humdinger of an event where I will be this event’s opening spinner for FWMJ’s unofficial SXSW jumpoff, featuring the likes of Just Blaze, Saigon, Danny Brown, Tanya Morgan and more set to perform. This event should crack off and get your ears (and livers) properly prepped for…

2DopeBoyz, DJBooth & Last Rights Presents The Rising (Friday, March 18)
The big bang. Whereas last year Shake and I were merely media sponsors for the very first Smoker’s Club concert, we’ve taken things into our own hands and linked up with DJBooth and Last Rights to bring Miami’s The Rising to Austin, TX. I’m personally gassed to see Kendrick Lamar and ScHoolboy Q take the stage, but Emilio Rojas, Tanya Morgan, Freeway and Big K.R.I.T. are known to rip a stage or two. Stop on by; you may end up walking out with a special (2)Dope shirt Shake and I will be rocking down there…

Move Forward Music & Fusicology’s Unofficial SXSW Showcase (Fri. March 18)
Following The Rising join me, Pac Div, J*DaVeY, Blu and more for another dope showcase spotlighting some of today’s dopest acts. Read: this is your chance to bludgeon Shake with more mixtapes and other such musical paraphernalia.

HardKnockTV & The Smoking Section Present The First Annual Hoop & Hang (Sat. March 19)
I’ll just take these words from TSS

On Saturday, March 19th, TSS and HardKnock TV will present the first Hoop & Hang Event, powered by Nike Basketball. 50 artists and media members, all balling three-on-three style in a quest for bragging rights and just cooling out. Full details regarding location and time will be revealed as Saturday draws near.

I’ll be spinning at this event, so expect a lot of people trying to reenact their false Fab Five dreams behind a backdrop of everything from Steely Dan to Sean Price.

Hope to see you all there.
