(2)Deep: O.C. – Master Ya High

blame it on JES7 May 14, 2011

I finally received my copy of this limited-to-200 pieces compilation of previously unreleased Omar Credle joints in the mail yesterday and have been listening to it almost non-stop. Yes, I caved in and spent the $50 on it, as well as picking up the first part of this series via a third-party seller. No regrets, although I did miss out on my chance to get the Extras EP which I already foresee myself dropping some hard-earned money on with a ridiculous price tag attached to it.

Here goes one joint from this EP, Master Ya High produced by Buckwild and recorded in between Word…Life and Jewelz sessions and features an Isley Brothers sample along with a Slick Rick vocal sample (Hey Young World). This beat eventually got scrapped and ended up as Faith Evans’ I Love You. If this piques your interest, make sure to keep an eye out on Discogs for copies for sale before prices really skyrocket!

“Living a lie, you ain’t fly yo // Two years ago you was an average Joe // I thought you was a friend but you a foe now // Eventually me and you are gonna bump heads and have a showdown.”
