Let’s take it back five years with a dope joint I just discovered recently by Marc Mac, other wise known as the other half of 4 Hero from the UK. I stumbled upon this while browsing the DWG forums, and although a little hesitant, I clicked play and was immediately drawn in. Listened a couple more times, and the next thing you know, my fingers were on a shopping spree. I caved in and copped the 7″ with the quickness. On the project, Marc states “I needed to produce the tracks like hip-hop records that sound fat in a club and not like dinner jazz. It’s about reclaiming jazz.” It’s an incredible reinterpretation of some of Hip-Hop’s greatest gems with a modern twist and they’ve definitely left their mark (no pun intended) in my humble opinion.
