A friend of mine emailed me this Youtube clip that I slept on for a couple of days until I finally caved in and clicked it today. The kid’s name is Eric Lau all the way out in London showing us some BTS of a song he produced and put out for free recently. He sampled a joint off Ahmad Jamal’s incredible ’73 LP, (while most producers gravitated toward one specific song on there, the rest of the album is surprisingly hardly touched / sampled). I did some more digging around and turns out he’s recorded some joints with Oddisee and even Guilty Simpson. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for this kid’s stuff in the future.
