Iggy Azalea Live In New York (Video)

LowKey and myself hosted and spun music for the Aussie’s sold-out show at Manhattan’s SOBs last night, and I will say this: if you aren’t a fan of Nicki Minaj and/or Lady Gaga you won’t understand (and, understandably, won’t like) her appeal.

I joked to a couple folks that her show officially kicked off the “I just got out of school for the summer” season, but in actuality it felt as such as the crowd were primarily college-aged women (and some dudes as well) that matched her word-for-word during her songs. It was a rather short set (she, thus far, only has Ignorant Art and “Murda Business” to her name), stretched out through brief banter with the crowd and perhaps the most ratchet uncouth “Twerk Competition” I’ve ever witnessed (you can check for yourself down bottom). I ended up going home with a headache and my ears ringing for hours, but something tells me that was Iggy’s aimed intention in the first place.
