The feel of the original, Street Dreams, sounded like a gangster movie score. I wanted my version to sound like a hip hop movie score. Something that could have fit in the film Brown Sugar. If Nas was a gangsta in “Street Dreams” I wanted to sound like a prophet in “Soul Dreams”. – DC
