Chris Brown recently invited MTV out to a studio in Southern California to take a listen to music from his upcoming sixth studio album, X, which he wants to “have the same mentality as [he] did with the first album.” Aka… not knowing what is “hot” or “popular” and just being himself, Chris Brown.

The first single — “Fine China” co-written by Diplo — is said to be an “instantly infectious heartbreak” song that draws inspiration from Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and Sam Cooke. While Kendrick Lamar will be featured on a track called “Autumn Leaves” which is said to be one of the smoothest tracks on the album.

If you’re in your car just riding, it’s perfect. It just feels like a weather record — an emotional record. I feel a certain way when I hear it.
