Joaquin Phoenix Didn’t Produce Pusha T’s “King Push”

Contrary to popular belief, Joaquin Phoenix didn’t actually produce the intro to Pusha T’s My Name Is My Name. Speaking with XXL, the actor denounced the rumors and revealed the producer behind what would become “King Push” is actually a friend’s son.

While it was widely reported that Pusha T used my beat and that I produced his song, I can’t take any credit. A friend’s son played me his music, and all I did was make an introduction to Kanye’s camp.
