After Shad appeared on Lights’ 2011 release Sibera, the Toronto-based electro-pop singer returned the favor by assisting him on his recently-released album Flying Colours. Backed by some Mike Tompkins production, the Canadian musicians deliver a cross-over ready track full of thoughtful lyricism and Lights’ ascending vocals. The video, directed by Justin Broadbent, is available above.
Shad also sat down with Mass Appeal as part of their ongoing Off Tha Wall series. During the time on camera, he breaks down why FC is such a personal body of work, reveals his dream studio session, his spirit animal and lays out his elaborate “Death Row meal.”
In other Shad news, Duck Down Music announced a partnership in which they will be assisting his Canadian label Black Box Recordings with marketing and distribution globally for Flying Colours, so expect to see more of the 2dope project as the months continue to fly by.
