Miguel Says Nothing Was Off Limits When Writing Beyonce’s “Rocket”

It’s no secret that Beyonce’s new album is one of her most sexual. From getting down with Hov on “Drunk In Love” to getting her box treated on “Blow,” Yonce certainly had some sexy thoughts on her mind when creating the surprise LP.

One of the most explicit records on the album though, is the Miguel-penned “Rocket” (listen below). Sitting down with VIBE, the Kaleidoscope Dream singer explains that nothing was off limits when writing the song.

I’ll never forget the conversation I had with Beyoncé and her insisting that nothing was off-limits. And me being like, ‘Oh yeah, you sure? Because I can really take it there.’

What’s the first thing I’d want Beyoncé to say to me, as a man? What have I not heard her say? That’s where the song came from. And essentially it’s what all of us would want Beyoncé to say to us—no disrespect, obviously, to Jay.
