Listening to Nicki on YG’s “My Nigga (Remix),” Young Thug’s “Danny Glover,” YMCMB’s “Senile” and her tracks “Lookin’ Ass” and “Chi-Raq” with Lil Herb, it’s no secret that she’s back on the rapping tip. But will this carry on to her new album, The Pink Print?

Sitting down with MTV to promote her new film, The Other Woman, Nicki says that The Pink Print is her return to her hip hop roots.

I went so far to the other side that there’s only one place to go from there. You can either continue doing costumes or you can just say, ‘Hey guess what? This will shock them even more. Doing nothing will shock them even more.’

The tracks on Pink Print are back to my hip-hop roots. And I don’t think it’s something that I’m necessarily trying to do. As soon as I started working on my new album, that’s just the songs that I’ve been writing.

She also stated that every song won’t be on the same page as “Lookin’ Ass” and “Chi-raq” but she promises we won’t get any bullshit like “Starships” or that “Super Bass” fuckery…
