Black Zheep DZ – Yesterdays (Video)

blame it on Shake May 29, 2014

Introducing Black Zheep DZ, a Baltimore based emcee who reps the 7th Floor Villains. Already a few projects deep, Zheep makes his DopeHouse debut with the release of his “Yesterdays” video. A track that lives on his MishkaNYC-sponsored Refugee mixtape, which was released at the top of the year.

Black Zheep‘s Refugee sounds like a history of the hood, as told by someone who’s been posted on the block, since the days of horse and buggy drivebys. What’s that actually sound like? Spacey production with bass that hits hard, lots of lowkey clever raps that don’t reveal themselves until you listen to the track a couple times, and a cool delivery that constantly says “I’ve seen all this shit before”. If you could ever get that crazy dude that hangs out in front of the liquor store to take his antipsychotics, he might lay out a chronology of the streets, that sounds a lot like this mixtape by a young dude from Baltimore.
