For the first time in five years, 50 Cent has first week sales to look at it. Animal Ambition finally went up for sale last week and according to Billboard, Fif has pushed 47,000 thus far, landing him the #4 spot overall. Not bad for an indy release, especially if you consider he damn near released every song months prior. Still though, comparing this to 872k (GRODT‘s first week) is insane.

“I can’t do good. In my head, what good is because of the success I’ve had in the past, that’s so much lower. I’ve done so much that having the music that makes people enjoy themselves, that actually means something at the moment is the goal. Like when you said, ‘Do you care whether you sell the record or not?’ I do care that it actually is within our culture. That it means something.” – 50 Cent [The Breakfast Club, May 2014]

If things go as planned, Fif will have two more chances to make a first impression as Street King Immortal is now (finally) looking at a September release and G-Unit’s reunion album is set to impact in November.
