Considering El Gant and El Da Sensei both dropped new projects this month (Beast Academy and Try Again, respectively), I wanted to make use of Throwback Thursday (#tbt) and bring back a track they were both featured on from over a decade ago.
First appearing on El Gant’s 2001 debut, It’s Over, “D.R.S. (Dangerous Rap Species)” — which features Gant, Sensei, Pacewon and Strata-Gee rocking over some DJ King Shameek production — reemerged the following year on El Da Sensei’s debut, Relax, Relate, Release, before finally making its way on wax later in the year as a 12-inch single through King Shameek’s imprint, City Wise.
