The ‘Family Guy’ vs. ‘The Simpsons’ Crossover Special To Air In September

Attendees of Comic-Con were in for a real treat during the Family Guy panel when it was announced that the long awaited, long overdue crossover special where the Simpsons family meets the Griffins will finally air on Sept. 28. The best part? It will be an hour long special.

In the episode, the Griffin family somehow end up in Springfield while on a road trip. According to the synopsis:

Stewie becomes fascinated with Bart’s old-school pranks and gets a skateboarding lesson from him, Lois bonds with Marge, Lisa tries to find Meg’s special talent and Peter gets into a brawl with Homer over which brand of beer is better – Pawtucket or Duff.

I’ve always thought these eclectic episodes (a la the Star Wars parodies) were always some of their better episodes, and as a personal fan of both shows, this should prove to be great entertainment. Watch a five minute clip of the upcoming episode up top, which Entertainment Weekly just debuted online.

Sidenote: I thought it was wack that they murked off Futurama, but according to John DiMaggio (voice of Bender), there will also be a crossover special between The Simpsons and Futurama in the new season as well. The episode will be called “Simpsorama” (proof) where “Bender comes back through time to kill Bart because something Bart does will make the future look bad.”
