The 2014 MTV VMAs kicked off earlier tonight with Nicki Minaj joining Ariana Grande and Jessie J for a performance of “Bang Bang” (watch the official video) before getting into “Anaconda.” Because, obviously.

Usher & Nicki Minaj performed their Pharrell-produced “She Came To Give It To You” and following the performance, decided to let loose a new single, “Believe Me,” produced by Mike WiLL Made It.

Iggy Azalea & Rita Ora then performed the fan favorite, “Black Widow” before Queen Bey closed out the award show with an absolutely epic, 10 minute medley of her self-titled LP.

Although not present at the awards, Drake still managed to make headlines early as he beat out Eminem, Kanye West, Wiz Khalifa and Childish Gambino for “Best Hip Hop Video” with “Hold On, We’re Going Home.”
