As we all know by now, this past Saturday (September 13th) marked the 20th anniversary of Biggie’s seminal debut album Ready To Die. However, the once-overlooked seventh track on the album got a major facelift several months later, thanks to a DeBarge sample, some smooth new lyrics from the Notorious B.I.G., and a melodic hook thanks to Faith Evans and Mary J. Blige. Speaking to REVOLT as a part of their tribute show, “Ready To Die 20: Still the Illest,” Mary opens up working with both Puff and the fallen emcee, as well as speaking on the overall morose theme of B.I.G’s first album.

Take a trip down memory lane, with what seems like one of the best house parties that ever went down (next to the epicness that was Kid ‘N Play’s) below.
