Nas Reacts to Your Old Droog Rumors

blame it on Shake September 29, 2014

On August 25, 2014 it was officially confirmed that Your Old Droog was in fact Your Old Droog, and not Nas. Before that day though, the internet was full of “Your Old Droog is Nas” rumors, claiming the Queensbridge emcee was using a secret alias to release new material. As we all know now, the stories proved to be false when the Brooklyn emcee made his formal debut in NYC, a couple months removed from dropping his self-titled EP.

During a press run for his new Time Is Illmatic documentary (which, as expected, is dope as hell), Nasir sits down with our man Rob Markman over at MTV to address the rumors. Well, sort of… apparently God’s Son had never heard of Your Old Droog or his mystery releases.

“What do you mean a secret Nas album? I have no idea what you’re talking about,” Nas said with a puzzled look on his face. “I don’t even know what that means. No secret EPs, I don’t want a secret EP I want you to know it’s me when I drop.”
