Lifetime’s biopic on the late chanteuse will hit your respective television screens on November 15th, and after their short preview the network has begun airing the first trailer for the movie earlier this week. Watch it above, which features Zendaya replacement Alexandra Shipp in the titular role.
While there seems to be a brief appearance of “R. Kelly” (uh-oh!) in the 30-second spot, the trailer suggests that the movie will focus more on the “Timbaland/The Superfriends”-era of her career (which would make sense, as that was when she really took off). I can easily do without that Iggy Azalea drop, however.
