DopeHouse meet chief waKiL, an up-and-coming emcee/producer from Kansas City who is currently calling Los Angeles his home.
Following production/songwriting work with Big Sean, Frank Ocean, 50 Cent (Power), Kelly Rowland and others, the KC native released his debut album litteGiant Epic (available below) in November of last year.
Today he makes his DopeHouse debut with the the self-produced, self-loving single, “LOVE.”
“The people of this world need love. With all the stuff going on between the shooting of Trayvon, the shooting of Mike Brown, racism (of any race), the division that’s going on, society and all of its folly, I wanted to counter attack the hate that’s spreading around. At the end of the day, the thing we really need that conquers everything is love.” – chief waKiL
Peace to DJBooth on the premiere.
